Mixing and Feeding Instructions: To 2 tablespoons of ABBA RED 93 add 1 tablespoon of cold water.  Mix thoroughly in order to activate the ingredients.  (Remember moisten only what you will use in one feeding!)  Supply a small amount per day to all red birds year round and they will retain their deep red lustrous  plumage, dry ABBA RED 93 may also be supplied to the birds year round as a supplement. During the moult, ABBA RED 93 is especially helpful to all red birds. It aids in reducing the stress of the moult, the duration of the moult, as well as, assuring deep rich lustrous "new" plumage.  In addition, feed a well balanced seed diet along with a variety of fresh, crisp, "dark" greens, also fresh fruits such as apples, pears, etc.  During the breeding season, also feed ABBA GREEN 92 to the parents for the first five days.  At six days of age feed moistened ABBA RED 93 to the feeding parents as a supplement.  They will feed it to the babies.  Gradually increase the amount of ABBA 93 as the babies grow. When the babies eat on their own, continue to supply ABBA RED 93 along with a well balanced seed diet, such as: ABBA 1700 for canaries, and a soak mixture, such as ABBA SOAK. You may mix 4 tablespoons of ABBA RED 93 & 2 tablespoons of cold water.  Mix thoroughly. Prepare eggs as follows: Simmer the egg for five minutes.  Let it cool in the same water; then grate shell and all.  Add to the above mixture. Keep it fresh before feeding the red birds.  Breeding success has also been achieved by using ABBA RED 93 without the cooked eggs. Moisten 4 tablespoons of ABBA RED 93 with cold water.  Add 3 tablespoons of ABBA SOAK seed and mix thoroughly. Keep this mixture fresh before the feeding red birds and you will achieve better results with less work.  Be Careful! All moist food sours quickly, especially during the warm summer months.  Do not allow birds to eat sour, moldy food.  Follow the above instructions carefully and you will be successful. Tips on Cage Bird  Feeding:  Red birds in the wild state obtain carotenoid from fruits, berries, and vegetation.  They also have access to many sources of vitamins and minerals from their natural habitat.  During the yearly moult for example, the Virginia Cardinal feeds on mountain ash berries, Hawthorne berries, mulberries, blueberries, etc. These nutritious foods and others, which are available in their wild habitat, are rich in red carotenoid, vitamins, and minerals as well.  Upon consumption, the birds convert the cartenoid present as a pigment into canthaxanthin, which is then absorbed by their biological systems and is transmitted through their feathers.
